WWTDD? (What Would the Doctor Do?) - Cafepress.com

As any of you that own a television would have noticed, good programming is few and far between this summer. Anything worth watching is shoved to a terrible timeslot (Veronica Mars), and anything rating fairly well is inexplicably put on hiatus (So You Think You Can Dance). Because this drought has left me with fewer shows to recap I've decided to devote one day each week of summer highlighting a television related design from Cafepress.com.

For those of you unfamiliar with Cafepress, it is a site that lets you put designs onto a variety of products. I've been a member for a few months now, and it is really is fun way to express yourself and earn some extra cash. You can either sell your designs to the world at large or create and buy your own products, so please click here if you're interested in learning more or joining.

I'll spend the first couple of weeks highlighting my own designs - I hope you can forgive my shameless self promotion - then after that I'll feature some of my favourite TV themed products.

WWTDD?

As you probably already know, I am a huge fan of the new series of Doctor Who. The Doctor is someone who knows how to set things right and to save the day, and this design came to me when I watched Rose on her own. When she is without her Doctor she is very capable, and I believe that it is at least in part due to her asking herself 'What Would the Doctor Do?'
I decided to put the font in mauve, as in The Empty Child the Doctor mentions that it is the universally recognised colour for danger. I guess I am just a geeky fangirl!

This design is available on a wide selection of products, including t-shirts, bags, magnets and stickers, so if you are interested please visit my store, Meme Me.

Ashish: You really should check out Cafepress. It's a great site.

As for reading other blogs, I was going to use the rss feed through Firefox's live bookmarks. However, I already have so much on my bookmarks toolbar that it started to get very messy, so I stopped doing it, lol. At the moment I just visit other blogs when I get the urge or when I see a new post on the Orble homepage.

Rose is my favorite companion- much of which is as you mentioned she's a capable person on her own. She doesn't just wait for the Doctor to save her, or fall down every time the incline is more than half a degree (hello Sarah Jane??).

A friend once got one of those WWJD wrist bands from an Evangelical; he wears it and uses it every time he wants to rationalize doing something irrational or even suicidally stupid: What Would Janeway Do?

Francis: Rose is pretty great as a companion. I hope the next one lives up to her standard. By the way, I love 'What Would Janeway Do?'

I love CafePress and your design is really cool! How about a hat that goes with that shirt?

Hope: Ask and you shall receive, lol.

I think that's one thing I really love about Cafepress - the fact that it's more than just t-shirts.

You've got a little merchandising outfit, eh? Much income?

9. December 19th 2006 @ 01:00. Nina Says:
Cibby: So far I've made a couple of hundred dollars, mostly in the last two months with Christmas sales. It's a nice little bonus, certainly a tad better than blogging income, lol.
