Paula confirms absence from next seasons Idol
August 5th 2009 20:58
Its true. Paula Twittered it last night. Aparantly the negotiations for an increase in pay did not go her way. I believe that whatever it was she was asking for probably should've been matched. Were not talking Randy or Kara negotiating here, its Paula. She's for sure a large source of the ratings and popularity of the show. But Its Hollywood, who knows whats realy happening here. I mean, both sides have confirmed her asbsence from the panel next season as a judge, but is that really final? We'll see. See Paula's comments for yourself here on Paula's Twitter Page.
Um, what is Simon without Paula? Yes, Simon's cutting remarks and biting wit are probably invaluable to the show, but hell, we want those remarks and wit directed at Paula as well. The show can get slightly, or largely, annoying with their banter, but seriously, atleast its entertaining to watch them sit uncomfortably side by side one another as Simon announces his appal for Paula and she responds back with a love hit...or something along those lines.
Well, this will certainly be the buzz around tinseltown talks for awhile.
According to Entertainment Weekly, she reportedly turned down a 30% increase in pay.
Whatever the case, Simon is not going to be happy if in fact Paula does not return. When the rumor of the possibility that she'd be out was circling, Simon was quoted saying: "She'll be on the show. I don't get a lot of say. I've just made it clear that I want Paula on the show. Full stop". Ryan expresses the same thoughts telling EXTRA he hopes everyone will return for next season.
Well, I hope this boils over and some agreement is made, if only for the fact that we'll not hear the end of this for awhile if not. Who can really imagine the show without Paula crying on the panel for the contestants.
If they cant, I hope her HSN jewelry deal works out well for her!!
