Summer Programming - Alias Compromised, Mediocrity Remains
It’s official – Channel Seven hates me and other Alias fans everywhere. Despite the information I had previously posted, it now looks as if Alias won’t air over summer, instead being held over to some time in 2007. It looks as if the waves of mediocrity I mentioned in my previous summer programming post have become a full-on tsunami.
Why are Channel Seven doing this to me? I’ve been good; I haven’t downloaded the show or purchased the DVDs from overseas. Instead I’ve waited patiently for the show to be broadcast on free to air. I have been faithful and Seven have betrayed me. All they had to do was schedule the show and make the long hot summer a bit more bearable. It’s not like they even had to fit in a full season order, only 17 episodes. Oh cruel network, why do you hurt me so? Just cast my hopes aside, throw me out to the curb, and watch me as I cry for a dream lost…
Ok, so my reaction may be a tad over the top, but it is this sort of erratic and disorganised summer airing that really irritates me. The networks seem to have no organisational skills when it comes to summer viewing – it all seems rushed and not particularly well thought through. I know it’s not a ratings period, but that doesn’t mean you can’t treat your audience with a little respect. Teasing them with promises of great cult shows, only to yank them away with unabashed glee, does nothing but destroy any bond people may have had with your network. This in turns means that they will elicit punishment by forgoing your network during the rest of the year; instead turning to the internet to obtain a more reliable source of entertainment.
In other news, Network Ten is no longer playing the 2 hour Best of Rove, and will instead play the OC at its normal timeslot, followed by the Just for Laughs special at 9.30 on the 28th of November.

Rugby World Cup 2007
And no...we're not being extreme.
Maybe we should do what US fans did when 'Angel' was cancelled...boycott the Channel...not that they care...we're only their viewers.
Sheesh.
Hope you are well Nina pretty TV babble-ina.

ps. I feared this may happen and I'm not as good nor as patient as you, so...I've been cheating.
And I do have to admit, it wasn't my intention to be good. It was just that I had trouble finding the show, so cheating wasn't really an option. After this news though, I may have to try again.
Celebrity Obsession
Looks like the only good thing about summer tv will be The West Wing which has restarted on ABC. Even though I'm still unhappy with the ABC for caving to political pressure and axing the Glass House.
Millennium Watch

I don't buy many DVDs, but a friend of mine is an avid collector, so I'mhoping he may purchase it then let me borrow it!
